Transgender Day of Visibility 2018

Cold Weather Clothing Exchange

Clothing our clients for winter

TAPVA is working hard to help transgender and gender nonconforming people (including veterans) out of homelessness and other unfortunate situations.
•Winter is coming and we have many clients who need clothing to stay warm! ❄️☃️❄️
•Our clients also need clothing for interviews and for those new jobs that require a certain dress code.
•Many stores create a shopping stress! It can hard to try on clothes for a trans person in a store with gender specific fitting rooms. Thrift stores do not create this issue!
A few dollars can go far!

•$1 gets a client a sweater or winter accessories!
•$5 dollars could get a client a bag of winter clothes or 1 coat and a pair of boots!
•$10 dollars can get our clients a bag of winter clothes, a coat and boots!
•$20 dollars can help us clothe 3 clients with winter essentials!

If you can’t afford to give, then please share this anywhere you think it will help! We also accept gently used clothing donations!

2018 Transgender Day of Remembrance & Resilience

BUILDING BRIDGES WITHIN AND BEYOND THE HAMPTON ROADS' TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY,

Please join us on Tuesday, November  20, 7PM for an annual celebration of transgender lives that have been lost too soon and in our hope for the future. Through speakers, art, music, and community-- we will join together to celebrate and remember our friends and family, as well as learn how to be better advocates and allies for trans people, especially trans people of color who face violence and discrimination at disproportionate rates. Please join us as we stand in solidarity and hope.

The event will begin promptly at 7:00pm at New Life Metropolitan Community Church of Hampton Roads, VA (1000 Sunset Drive, Norfolk, VA).
