The most important aspect of the TIES is community. To us, community means trust, solidarity, and a shared respect for people who are transgender and gender diverse. The summit is an opportunity to build that community – to learn from and with each other in a safe, welcoming, and empowering space. TIES offers information that is designed to meet the interests and needs of transgender and gender diverse individuals, partners, parents, youth, and allies to strengthen the trans community across Virginia!
After the overwhelming success of last year's TDOV, we invite you back for our second annual Hampton Roads Trans Day of Visibility, where all can come together and celebrate the abilities of our local trans and gender non-conforming artists and talent!
This year we have decided to highlight our long history of existence as trans individuals, and our push to continue to be visible today even as the Trump administration is seeking to erase us from the records and make us invisible to society. #wontbeerased
Art and creativity are natural expressions of life. On TDOV 2019, we seek to elevate and showcase the art and talents of the trans community, empowering and celebrating trans individuals, and spreading knowledge of trans issues to the public.
